I am here! I'm here!

Hello there!

After a long journey I am here. Excuse my typing I just severely burned my right index finger while cooking diner. i have one of those electric stoves with black hot plates where you cant tell if one was turned on and Burrrrrnn there goes my finger- ewe. It hurts. SO anyways. The first few days have been really busy. But lets start from the top!  My flight was good, no problems with delays etc. Although there was this guy who sat next to me who was from India, he was nice, but bothered me a little. He would sing random songs to himself, then have conversations with me which was nice-- but then i would try to read, or listen to my I-pod and he would keep talking.....i was like...ehhh i'm busy now. LOL.  I left my watch in the Frankfurt airport (my nice "big-girl" watch) and i was so tired and had just walked about a mile to my new gate when I realized it was missing. I  sat had some coffee then sucked it up and went back for it.  There it was waiting for me :-) I had to fill out a form and the security lady said "you have an American passport, a German last name, and you live in Paris?", I guess I had never thought about it!
Also i dont know why i thought it would be warmer here...but it is winter and I am cold. One of my first stops was to buy a new jacket (dont worry Dad, I paid for that :-)).  I wasnt able to bring very  many clothes because of the baggage limit-- which despite my every effort I was STILL charged $200 for!!!!! So  I have 1 sweatshirt, one pair of PJ pants one pair of running shoes. I packed the most expensive clothes first because they would be the most easily replaced.

Day 1: I got kitchen and bathroom necessities, and groceries.
Day 2: Bedroom necessities, and opened bank account
Day 3: tried to get long term visa (have to go back tomorrow--grrr).

There-- there is the summary of what I have done. I haven't really been able to do any fun stuff yet, just trying to get all of the business type stuff done before school starts on Monday. But tomorrow is Friday and after getting my visa (which by the way-- where do you find a photo copier in Paris!??) Then i plan on having home cooking day and a site seeing day before school starts AND sllleeeping!
